
The Central West Self-Management Program is offering a free, six-week Chronic Pain Self-Management Program for adults living with chronic pain or other ongoing health conditions. This peer-led program provides practical strategies, knowledge and support to help participants build confidence and take an active role in managing their health and day-to-day well-being. Topics include: Managing pain, symptoms and fatigue Healthy eating and physical activity Setting personal goals and developing action plans Problem-solving and managing stress Communicating effectively with health-care providers Building confidence and maintaining independence The workshops are non-clinical and evidence-based, using self-management approaches originally developed through Stanford University. The program complements, but does not replace, medical treatment or advice from health-care professionals. The CWSMP is delivered through William Osler Health System and serves communities across the Central West region, including Caledon, Brampton, Dufferin County, Etobicoke, Malton, Woodbridge and Rexdale.
