In response to the rapidly spreading and highly transmissible Omicron variant, the Ontario government is applying additional public health and safety measures, including capacity and social gathering limits. As a result, capacity limits at recreation centres have been reduced to fifty per cent and the Town will return to a pre-booking system for fitness centres. For all other impacted services, including facility rentals, patrons are being contacted directly.
Fitness centres at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness and Southfields Community Centre will return to a pre-booking system as of Wednesday, December 22, 2021. All participants are asked to book before coming to the fitness centre. Registration is available 72 hours in advance. Proof of Vaccination - QR code required as of January 4, 2022 Effective January 4, 2022, the enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code will be required as proof of vaccination. Vaccine receipts without a QR code will no longer be accepted. Identification with your name and date of birth must be shown along with your vaccine certificate with QR code. Proof of vaccination will continue to be required for all participants and spectators ages 12 years and older. The QR code can be used digitally or by printing a paper copy. You can download your enhanced certificate with QR code: How to get your COVID-19 vaccine certificate. You can also call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 to have your enhanced vaccine certificate emailed or mailed to you.
